Claresholm Animal Rescue Society (CAReS)

We are a shelter dedicated to finding wonderful homes for stray and abandoned animals in the Claresholm and surrounding area. Thank you for your patience as we launch our new website, and are adding available animals.

Upcoming Events
CAReS will have a table at the Resource and Registration Fair on September 2, 2010 at the Community Centre from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Stop by for a visit and talk to us about our volunteering opportunities.
The 2011 CAReS fundraising calendar development is underway with the help of our good friend and master graphic designer, Julie Hutchinson of the Claresholm Local Press. Julie did a beautiful job on the 2010 Calendar (which we sold out - 300 copies).
The 2010 Calendar raised $6,300 in gross contributions and the cost of the calendar was $3,000. The $3,300 raised by this event was used for operational needs at the shelter (vet bills, rent, food and supplies for the animals). We hope the community will show their support for our mission once again this year by buying a calendar for $15 or advertising their business on one of the months for a cost of $150. If you would like to buy advertising space, contact Rita Hahn at the shelter.

THANK YOUS
Thank you to everyone who came out to our BBQ in August which had gross contributions of $1,167.99 and costs to put the event on of $455.69 leaving money raised of $712.30 for the shelter's operating needs. Also thank you to stopping by our table at the Claresholm & District Bench Show. We showcased many of our beautiful cats and dogs that are available for adoption and raised $70 in the donation jar which all goes to the shelter's operations. Nothing goes together better than children and animals....it was alot of fun to watch the kids faces and the animals showing off for them.
